Privacy on this website
Version 2026-10-25.3, in effect from 25 October 2026. This covers the Savant website (savantedu.com) and its sign-up forms only. The Savant app has its own privacy policy, shown before you start using it.
In short
- We keep what you type into a form when you send it, and the time you sent it. We never record what you type unless you send the form.
- We keep simple visit statistics on our own server: your IP address, the pages you visit, how you arrived, how you use the page, your device and your approximate location. In the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland we ask first. Details and your choice.
- No cookies, no advertising, no ad trackers, and no scripts or fonts from other companies.
- We never sell or share any of it for advertising.
- You can remove yourself at any time, below, and it is gone at once.
Who we are
Savant is run by Landon Davidshofer, 1299 Farnam St, Suite 304, Omaha, Nebraska, United States, who decides how the information on this website is used (the "controller" in data protection law). For anything about your data, write to contact@savantedu.com or to the address above.
What each form collects
| Updates | Your email address, that you ticked "Send me occasional updates", and when. Used to send you news about Savant. |
|---|---|
| Beta application | Your email, a name or nickname, whether you are a learner, parent or teacher, your answer to "Why should we accept you?", that you confirmed you are 13 or older (or a parent signing up for a child), that you agreed to be emailed about the beta, and when. Used to choose beta testers and to contact you about the beta. |
| Investors | Your name, email, firm if you give one, your message, and when. Used to reply to you. |
The words of the box you ticked are stored with your answer, so we can show what you agreed to.
Visit statistics
To understand how people find Savant and use this website, our own server keeps simple visit statistics. We set no cookies for this and use no outside analytics service: everything below is collected and stored by us, on our server, and is never sent to anyone else.
| Each page you visit | Your IP address, the time, the page, and how you arrived: the name of the site that sent you (for example google.com, never the full address of the page you came from), or a tag in the link you followed, such as ?src=email, utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign. |
|---|---|
| Approximate location | Country, city and a position rounded to 0.1 degree (about 10 km), worked out from your IP address on our own server with a copy of DB-IP's free database. No location service sees your IP address, and we never ask your device for its location. |
| Your device | Whether it is a phone, tablet or computer; its model, where your browser gives it (for example iPhone, iPad or Pixel 8); the operating system and the browser, with their main version numbers (not the full browser identification string); the screen size, rounded to 10 pixels, and its pixel density; your browser's language; and your time zone. |
| How you use the page | How far down you scroll (the deepest point, and whether you passed 25, 50, 75, 90 and 100%); which sections came into view, and for how long; your time on the page, and how much of it the page was in front and in use; which buttons and links you click (their label, and where they lead: a page of this site, or only the name of another site); which form fields you click into (by the field's name, such as "email"), the last one you used, whether you sent the form, and which kinds of error message you saw (for example "too short"); how fast the page loaded and responded; and any error in this page's own scripts (the message and the line only). |
We never record what you type unless you send the form. We note only that a field was used, never what is in it, your keystrokes or your mouse movements, and we make no recordings of your visit.
We group your page views into visits (30 minutes without activity starts a new one), and tell new from returning visitors by IP address. If you send one of our forms, your visits may be linked, by your IP address and the day's visit, to the name and email you gave, so we can understand how people find us. Your form answers themselves are kept exactly as described above.
Your choice
- In the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland (judged from your IP address, on our server) we ask first, with a one-line notice. Until you choose Allow, we keep only anonymous daily counts: the country, how visitors arrived, the kind of device, and what happened on each page (for example "scrolled halfway" or "started the beta form"), with no IP address and nothing tied to you.
- Everywhere else we keep the statistics without asking, and you can opt out at any time with the control below.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) is honoured everywhere: if your browser sends it, we keep only the anonymous counts for you.
- Without JavaScript, this site keeps no visit statistics at all.
Visit stats
Your choice is saved in this browser only, in its local storage (not a cookie), so it is not tracking. "Don’t allow" also tells our server to stop identifying visits from your current IP address, which it remembers only in a scrambled form (a salted hash), and deletes the visit statistics it holds for that address. You can change your choice at any time.
Visit statistics are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Removing your details (below) also deletes the visits linked to your sign-ups. IP geolocation by DB-IP.com, licensed under CC BY 4.0; DB-IP receives nothing from us.
Why we are allowed to use it
- Updates and beta emails: your consent, given by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time, by unsubscribing or removing your details below, without affecting what was done before.
- Choosing beta testers and replying to investors: to take the steps you asked for, and our legitimate interest in running the beta and answering messages.
- Holding your IP address for a short time to stop spam: our legitimate interest in keeping the forms working and free of abuse.
- Visit statistics outside the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland: our legitimate interest in understanding how people find and use our website. You can object at any time with the Visit stats control.
- Visit statistics in the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland: your consent, given with Allow on the notice. You can withdraw it at any time from the Visit stats control on this page, without affecting what was done before. The anonymous daily counts kept without consent hold nothing that identifies you.
No decision about you is made by a computer alone. Beta testers are chosen by a person reading the applications.
What we do not collect
We do not set cookies, and we use no outside analytics or advertising service. We never record what you type unless you send the form. We do not store your IP address with your form answers: for spam control, the form server keeps it in memory for about 15 minutes at most and then forgets it. Your IP address is stored only as part of the visit statistics above, and only as described there (never, for example, in the UK or the EU until you allow it). (Our own private sign-in page for the people who run Savant uses a strictly necessary security cookie, and each attempt to sign in there is logged with its time, IP address and browser, to protect it from break-ins. Visitors get no cookies.) Your choice of light or dark mode, and your visit-stats choice, are remembered by your own browser. Our hosting provider, Google Cloud (a virtual machine in the Iowa region, us-central1, in the United States), may keep standard connection logs for up to 24 months.
If a form on this site falls back to email (when our form server is not reachable), it opens your own email app with your answers filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send, and the email is then handled by your email provider and ours, Zoho Mail.
Children
This website is for people aged 13 and over, and for parents. It never asks for a child's email. A parent who wants their child in the beta applies with their own email and chooses Parent; the child's account is set up later inside the app, with the parent's consent. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us their details here, we delete them.
Who sees it, and how long we keep it
Only the people who run Savant. It is stored on our own server, in files that are not public. We do not share it, except with the hosting provider named above, which stores it for us, and our email provider, Zoho, which carries any email we send you or you send us.
Updates sign-ups are kept until you remove yourself or unsubscribe. Beta applications are kept until the beta ends, then deleted unless you are a tester. Investor notes are kept while we are in touch, and at most 2 years. Visit statistics are kept for 24 months, then deleted.
The companies that handle it for us
| Google Cloud | Hosts this website and stores the form answers, on a virtual machine in the Iowa region (us-central1), United States. |
|---|---|
| Zoho Mail | Carries the email we send you and the email you send us. |
They handle it only to provide their service to us, under their own data protection terms, and may not use it for anything else.
If you are outside the United States
The information is stored in the United States. If you write from the UK, the EU or another country with its own data protection law, your information is transferred to the United States to provide this website, under the safeguards in our providers' data protection terms (including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where they apply).
How it is protected
The site is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form answers are kept in files that only the server can read and that are never published, and only the people who run Savant can reach the server.
Emails and unsubscribing
We only email you about what you signed up for. Every updates email has a way to unsubscribe. You can also remove your details below or write to us at any time.
Remove your details
Enter the email you signed up with. Every sign-up, application and note under that address is deleted at once, together with the visit statistics linked to them (every visit from the IP address they were linked to). You can also write to us and we will do it by hand, within 30 days.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to contact@savantedu.com from the email address you signed up with, so we can check the request is yours. We answer within 30 days, and it costs nothing.
UK and EU
You also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your information, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time (for visit statistics, with the Visit stats control above). You can complain to your data protection regulator, for example the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the authority in your EU country. We would like the chance to help first, so please write to us.
California and other US states
We collect identifiers (your email address, the name you give, and your IP address), the content of your messages, internet activity on this website (the pages you visit, how you arrived, and how you use the pages, as listed under Visit statistics), device information, and your approximate location inferred from your IP address, for the purposes described above. We do not sell or share personal information (including IP addresses and inferred location), we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information. You have the right to know what we collect, to correct it and to delete it, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights. We honour a Global Privacy Control signal: with it, we keep only anonymous counts of your visits, and we treat it as a request not to sell or share your information.
Links to other sites
The footer links to our pages on TikTok, X, YouTube and Instagram. Nothing is loaded from those sites until you click a link. Once you are on their site, their own privacy policies apply.
Changes
Each version of this page has a number and a date, at the top. If we change what the forms collect, we update this page before the change applies, and if the change affects what you signed up for, we email you first.
